Picton Resource Centre is a non-profit organisation working in the community to assist other local non-profit groups. We are based in the Mariners Mall on Picton High Street.
Our aim is to assist all non-profit groups with advertising, promotion and administration of their activities. It is not only their one off events, but their regular weekly happenings that we assist with. This ranges from sports clubs and hobby classes to volunteer groups and community working groups. In fact, there are over sixty active clubs and societies meeting on a weekly or monthly basis in our small community.
Whatever task your group is undertaking, from producing newsletters to putting on an event, from organising an AGM to running a sports club, the Resource Centre has a service designed to make things easier for you. We aim to provide straightforward, useful information to help people run their community groups. We update our information on a regular basis and if we don’t have what you need we will endeavour to find it.
Picton Resource Centre uses many forms of free advertising within the community. A fortnightly newsletter (Picton Happenings) is produced and sent out to 700+ people by email and printed copies are available at the Resource Centre counter and Picton Library. We manage the notice boards in Mariners Mall along with the television outside Fresh Choice which displays a continuously revolving slide show of promotions.
The Picton Resource Centre works alongside REAP Marlborough (Rural Education Activities Programme) to bring education to the local adult community. Go to our Courses/Workshops page to see the courses we have coming up. If there is a particular course you would like to see run in Picton then please inform us at the Resource Centre and we will endeavour to arrange it for you.
If you think the Picton Resource Centre may be able to help you then please get in touch.
